1. Opening

Friends blessed by Allah, in this fast-paced modern life, human standards of happiness are often distorted by material achievements. We often feel we have not succeeded if we do not yet possess everything. Yet, if we deeply dissect the essence of happiness from the perspective of Islamic spiritual science, we will find an extraordinarily beautiful and soul-soothing Hierarchy of Blessings.Allah SWT has designed life in such a way that a servant’s true wealth is not measured by piles of assets, but by three main installations of blessings within him: Guidance, physical health, and sufficient daily provision. When these three come together, psychologically the human soul reaches a point of perfect peace. Rasulullah ﷺ formulated this hierarchy of happiness in his very beautiful saying:

مَنْ أَصْبَحَ مِنْكُمْ آمِنًا فِي سِرْبِهِ مُعَافًى فِي جَسَدِهِ عِنْدَهُ قُوتُ يَوْمِهِ فَكَأَنَّمَا حِيزَتْ لَهُ الدُّنْيَا

“Whoever among you wakes up in the morning feeling safe in his self, healthy in his body, and has food for his day, it is as if the entire world has been gathered for him.” [HR. Tirmidzi]

The highest and most precious blessing in this hierarchy is Hidayah. Hidayah is the spiritual compass. Without it, a healthy body and abundant wealth will only become fuel to go astray even further. Therefore, Allah SWT obliges us to ask for this guidance-nutrition at least 17 times day and night in our prayers, through the verse we recite most often:

اهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ

“Guide us to the straight path.” [QS. Al-Fatihah: 6]

2. Lessons and Message

Friends, let us bring our hearts to reflect on the meaning behind this hierarchy of blessings and the importance of consistent spiritual nourishment:Gratitude in the Right Priority Scale

The highest moral message of this concept is mental freedom. When we understand that “enough for today and healthy” is already equivalent to owning the world, we will no longer be tormented by envy toward others’ achievements on social media. We learn to simplify worldly expectations and raise the standard of Hereafter achievements.

Let us reflect on a very sorrowful reality that often happens around us. Imagine someone who succeeds in reaching the peak of his worldly career: his wealth is abundant, his house is grand, and his body is fit from expensive treatments. Yet, because he neglects spiritual nourishment and loses hidayah, his soul becomes extremely dry and empty . How heartbreaking it is to see someone who outwardly has everything, yet inwardly suffers acute anxiety, collapses into depression, and feels alienated amid his own luxury. He has a soft bed, but cannot buy restful sleep. He has delicious food, but loses appetite and gratitude. How tragic—he holds the world in his hands, yet loses the Creator of the world in his heart. This proves that body and wealth without hidayah are a torturous mirage.

Hidayah in our heart is like a seed of a very beautiful plant. For that seed to grow into a lush tree, with strong roots and sweet fruit, it needs water and nutrients consistently every day. That nutrition is worship, dhikr, and religious knowledge. If we only water it once a month, or only when we are struck by calamity, then the seed of hidayah will wilt, dry up, and finally die in the chest. Hidayah is not a one-time lifetime installation that is permanently maintenance-free, but a system that must be continuously renewed and given spiritual nourishment without pause.

Imagine you own the most expensive and most advanced smartphone, the latest 2026 release. Its screen is crystal clear, its body is made of titanium, and its camera is extraordinary. But unfortunately, that luxury gadget is in the middle of a wilderness with absolutely no internet signal, and its battery is at 1%.What can you do with that fancy gadget? Can’t scroll social media, can’t make a call, and even if you want to show it off, the screen will die soon and turn into a useless black brick.

Funny how many of us act exactly like that expensive gadget with no signal. We busy ourselves beautifying our bodies [like a titanium body], busy accumulating wealth [like high RAM specs], but we forget to seek the “Hidayah Signal” from the heavens and are lazy to charge our “Spiritual Battery” through worship. As a result, when life’s storms come, we immediately go low-bat, lose composure, get stressed, and stop functioning as humans altogether.

3. Conclusion and Closing

Friends beloved by Allah, let us rearrange how we view blessings. If this morning you woke up with faith preserved in your chest, a body that can move without pain, and a plate of food to enjoy today, then stop complaining. You are a true billionaire in the sight of Allah SWT. You have already held the entire world and all it contains.

Do not let this healthy body wither without prostration, and do not let this sufficient provision evaporate without charity. Let us consistently nourish our hidayah so that our spiritual signal with Allah always remains full and strong.

“O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, by Your mercy I seek help. Rectify all of my affairs for me, and do not entrust me to myself [without Your guidance] for even the blink of an eye.” [HR. An-Nasa'i in Al-Kubra]
