Assalamu’alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

Bismillahir- Rahmanir-Rahim

1. Preface

Biologically, we often regard plants as passive beings that only need water and sunlight. Yet research has shown something extraordinary. In a controlled experiment, plants that were recited the Qur’an—such as Surah Yasin, Al-Fatihah, Al-Ikhlas, and Ayat al-Kursi—were able to grow 44% taller and produce 140% more yield compared to normal plants. Conversely, plants subjected to harsh treatment or exposed to negative words experienced up to an 80% drop in production. Scientifically, sound frequencies and good intentions create positive resonance in plant cells. This proves that plants are beings that feel, hear, and respond to the energy and spirituality around them

.2. Explanation

The Qur’an affirmed 14 centuries ago that all contents of the universe are actually glorifying the Creator. Life and the environment around us are like an echo in a cave; if you shout beautiful words, then beautiful is the echo you receive. If we plant with the seed of the Qur’an and water it with dhikr, the universe will “conspire” to bestow abundant blessings.Let us reflect on the divine foundation from Allah SWT and the message of the Messenger ﷺ regarding this matter:A. Qur’anic Evidence (On the Glorification of All Creation)

يُسَبِّحُ لَهٗ مَا فِي السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِۚ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيْزُ الْحَكِيْمُ

“Whatever is in the heavens and the earth glorifies Him. And He is the Almighty, the All-Wise.” (QS. Al-Hasyr: 24)

B. The Saying of the Messenger ﷺ (On the Rights of Living Beings)

مَنْ قَتَلَ عُصْفُورًا عَبَثًا عَجَّ إِلَى اللَّهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

“Whoever kills a sparrow in vain, that sparrow will cry out to Allah on the Day of Judgment [demanding justice].” (HR. An-Nasa'i No. 4446)

3. Lessons and Message

From this secret of nature, we can draw profound wisdom for daily life:The Power of Speech: If a stalk of wheat can wilt from harsh words, imagine the impact of our speech on the hearts of fellow humans. Use kalimah thayyibah [good words] in every interaction. The Meaning of Barakah: Barakah is not merely statistics; it is the presence of Allah’s pleasure in every effort we make. Begin planting with Bismillah and tend the earth with dhikr.Sensitivity of the Heart: Remember the story of the date-palm trunk in the Prophet’s Mosque that wept and sobbed out of longing for the dhikr of the Messenger ﷺ. If a piece of dry wood could weep from yearning for Allah and His Messenger, how ashamed should our hearts be if they never tremble when Allah’s name is proclaimed.Environmental Ethics: Do not become a “producer of pollution” in sound and energy in your own home. A wilting houseplant may not be due to lack of fertilizer, but because it often hears quarrels and complaints

.4. Conclusion

My brothers and sisters, science has validated what our faith believes: that Allah, the Creator, did not create anything in vain. Plants, animals, and the entire universe are our companions in glorifying Him.Let us spread peace and constantly remember Allah in every activity. By making dhikr part of how we care for nature, insha Allah abundant blessings will be present in every inch of our lives.
